Bingewatcher’s Dilemma: Ted Lasso Season 4 – Hints, Joys & Concerns for Beloved Comedy

Caution: Plot Spoiler Alert! This article reveals the finale of ‘Ted Lasso’, so if you haven’t finished watching the series and wish to avoid spoilers, please exercise caution while reading, dear Lucy Lawless.

Finally, after a good friend prompted me with some persuasion to sign up for Apple TV+, I’ve managed to watch Ted Lasso. Although I still have plenty more Apple TV+ shows to discover, I can already say with confidence that this Emmy-winning sports comedy is one of my all-time favorite comedies.

Recently, there’s been chatter about another season for “Ted Lasso,” a show where an American football coach (playing by Jason Sudeikis) is unexpectedly managing an English soccer team. Truth be told, I find myself torn about this prospect. Let me clarify, but before we delve into my feelings, let’s briefly discuss the possibility of this critically acclaimed sitcom potentially returning for another season.

There Have Been Hints At A Possible Ted Lasso Season 4

It’s important to note that as of January 2025, the fourth season of Ted Lasso hasn’t officially been announced yet, although it has been a popular topic of conversation following the end of Season 3 in May 2023. TopMob’s Riley Utley even proposed some intriguing ideas for the show’s continuation back in September, but so far, no one associated with the series has provided any definite information about its future.

The latest information originated from Nick Mohammad, also known as Nate “The Wonder Kid” Shelley from Ted Lasso, who shared a video on X platform revealing he’s canceling shows for his current comedy tour due to filming commitments for an undisclosed project. Although he advises against speculation about the project, he displays what appears to be a “Believe” poster similar to Ted’s, raising intrigue in some fans that this could be hinting at future developments within the show. It’s possible he’s just playing around, but there’s a spark of hope among viewers that this might signal upcoming news about the series.

I Would Love To See More Of Richmond In Action

As a former child soccer player, I can’t recall ever taking an interest in the game, now known as football in the U.K., until I began watching Ted Lasso. It seems that all it took was the right team to support, and AFC Richmond’s eclectic mix of players and offbeat staff certainly fit the bill.

Some characters didn’t immediately win my affection (like Phil Dunster’s self-centered Jamie Tartt), but as the story unfolded, I grew to adore each and every one of them. The season 3 finale, where they bid their apparent farewell, was a moment that made me shed tears – one of many emotional moments the show has provided. Consequently, I’m eager for more of this uplifting and heartwarming saga, even if Ted stays in America. Nevertheless…

Ted Lasso Season 3 Ended The Story Perfectly

In my opinion, the third season of “Ted Lasso” couldn’t have had a more satisfying conclusion. The ending is both bittersweet and fitting, as Ted decides to move closer to his son, Henry (played by Gus Turner), while Roy Kent gets promoted to head coach and Rebecca Welton stays on, but now shares ownership of the club with fans. This final episode is among the best TV series finales I’ve ever watched, and I would be completely happy if it were indeed the last one in the series.

Due to the scarcity of TV shows that concluded in such a fulfilling manner, a part of me secretly wishes that this comedy has already wrapped up and joined the elite group of series with perfect endings. I believe it’s better for it to maintain its pristine reputation rather than risk damaging it by continuing unnecessarily.

Indeed, numerous popular TV shows have been revived with great success, like the fourth season of Veronica Mars and the ongoing reboot of Doctor Who. If a fourth season of Ted Lasso is on the cards, I’d love to be surprised and see it ranked amongst these successful revivals.
