Binny And Family: Shahid Kapoor's father Pankaj Kapur sheds light on how he overcame communication gap with his kids; Find out

As an ardent fan of the illustrious Pankaj Kapur, I find myself deeply moved by his profound insights into parenting and family dynamics. His wisdom, gleaned from a rich life experience, is not just a testament to his acting prowess but also to his understanding of human relationships.

Currently, esteemed actor Pankaj Kapur, who has been featured in a recent web series titled IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, is immersed in a wave of promotional activities. Following the release of the crime thriller series, his next venture will be Anjini Dhawan’s debut film, Binny And Family, hitting theaters soon. In a recent interview, Pankaj Kapur opened up about his close relationship with his son, Shahid Kapoor, and how he bridged the communication gap between himself and his three children, Shahid, Sarah Kapoor, and Ruhaan Kapoor.

During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Pankaj Kapur was inquired about any potential misunderstandings between him and Shahid Kapoor and the steps he took to bridge any gaps.

Pankaj Kapur stated, “I don’t believe I think as you do because, at an unusually advanced age, one can still be a child. This might prompt you to recall that you are also at that stage of life and how your journey unfolded…” So, you are open about it.

Speaking about his kids Shahid, Sarah, and Ruhaan, Pankaj mentioned that he’s been quite approachable with them, going so far as to say he feels more like a friend than a parent towards them. This openness, according to the Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron actor, is something he inherited from his own father who had a similar friendly bond with him.

Through the teachings of his father, Pankaj conveyed that he allows his family members to lead lives according to their desires, even if he may not comprehend it at the time. The actor from Binny and Family further stated that he has never impeded them from making friends.

The 70-year-old actor underscored that it’s crucial for older generations to acknowledge that today’s generation may have more knowledge in certain areas than them, while still valuing the experience and wisdom they possess. He encouraged today’s generation to learn from their elder family members. Meanwhile, he suggested that parents and grandparents should be receptive to this mindset by welcoming it warmly.

In a new film titled Binny And Family, Varun Dhawan’s niece Anjini Dhawan makes her acting debut. Alongside Anjini and Pankaj, the cast includes Rajesh Kumar and Himani Shivpuri. Ssanjay Tripaathy is at the helm of this production, which is set to be released in cinemas on September 20 of this year.
