As a seasoned gamer with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that Black Myth: Wukong has been one heck of a ride! The Fright Cliff area in chapter two is no exception. The quest for the elusive Buddha’s Eyeballs has been quite the challenge, but oh boy, was it worth it when I finally managed to summon Shigandang, the secret boss that guards these mystical orbs.
In the region known as Fright Cliff within chapter two of Black Myth: Wukong, you might encounter an object named Buddha’s Eyeball and ponder its purpose.
In this region, there are a total of six items to be found, each one bringing you a step closer to facing the hidden boss known as Shigandang. By delivering these items to their designated spots, you will unlock this special battle. I’ve provided details about where to find them and how to summon the boss in the information that follows.
How to get to Fright Cliff
In the narrative unfolding, as I traverse the charming Sandgate Village in chapter two, I find myself emerging through a quaint doorway, which triggers a captivating scene featuring the majestic King and his dashing Second Prince from the Flowing Sands.
Following the skirmish, make your way straight towards the wooden bridge spanning the valley beneath. Continue along this path until you reach the massive stone archway. Passing through it will lead you to Fright Cliff.
All Buddha’s Eyeball locations
Buddha’s Eyeball 1
Upon entering Fright Cliff, proceed along the path that ascends past the stone adversary towards the Squall Hideout Shrine.
On your right, as you walk along the path, you’ll spot the initial Buddha head and the Eye symbol. Give them a friendly tap to collect them.
Buddha’s Eyeball 2
Starting from the shrine, go right and climb the slope ahead, passing several rocky foes. By making a left turn, you will eventually reach a stairway ascending to a platform where there are ranged adversaries.
The Buddha’s Eyeball is on this platform.
Buddha’s Eyeball 3
From up high, I’ll descend the platform and traverse the rugged suspension bridge. Ahead, along the trail, I’ll spot the second Buddha statue nestled against the rocky cliffside.
Buddha’s Eyeball 4
Return to the last shrine you visited. Enter the cave located on the left side, and navigate through the archway that lies ahead.
As I tread along, I keep moving forward on this path. A bit farther ahead, there comes a point where I’ve got to veer left, deeper into the cavernous heart of this place. Once I do that, I’ll come across more pillars and, tucked between them, the next Buddha head will be waiting for me.
Buddha’s Eyeball 5
To proceed, first, go in reverse, then take a left turn. Continue along the cave, and you’ll exit at Rockrest Flat with a shrine visible in front of you.
From that point, take a left turn and continue along the path until you spot a Buddha’s head on a pedestal, partially hidden by the sand.
Buddha’s Eyeball 6
Return to the Rockrest Flat Shrine, then head back into the cave you entered earlier. Look for a path veering to your right that ascends into the depths of the cave.
At the culmination of this trail lies a formidable figure named Mother of Stones. Beyond a fissure in the stones, you’ll find yourself standing precariously close to a cliffside. As you traverse this path, keep an eye out for the last Buddha’s head, which is almost touching the edge.
How to summon Shigandang
After you’ve collected everything needed, make your way to the “Rockrest Flat Shrine” situated within the Fright Cliff region. It’s not far from the cave close to Squall Hideout, making it relatively easy to locate.
From here, if you head left, you’ll find an arch that leads to a large open platform. On the far end is a gathering of rocks that join together if you get too close to form the boss Stone Vanguard.
Alternatively, just a short distance away, there’s a bigger stone protruding from the ground, featuring several carvings that resemble faces.
Engaging with it following the collection of all Buddha’s Orbs triggers a scene where a stone emerges from the earth, unveiling a formidable foe known as Shigandang.
If you don’t take down Stone Vanguard first and wake up Shigandang beforehand, they might engage in a fight against each other. This could give you an advantage as Shigandang may be weaker when you eventually face him.
