On January 10th, 20225, the nail-biting TV show “Black Warrant” premiered on Netflix. This seven-part production is inspired by the 2019 real-life account book titled “Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer,” written by Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Choudhury. In this series, we see Sidhant Gupta portraying infamous serial killer Charles Sobhraj.
In my journey, I, Sidhant, hail from the vibrant city of Jammu and marked my acting debut in 2012 with a modest role in Tutiya Dil. Beyond the silver screen, I was a national-level under-14 cricketer, an under-17 swimmer, and an under-19 basketball player. Later on, I relocated to New Delhi, where my aspirations led me to pursue a commercial pilot’s license.
Originating from Sukesh Gupta and Sandhya Gupta, he has been a prominent figure in Badmashiyaan since then. His acting career also includes films such as Bhoomi and Operation Romeo. Notably, he has played significant roles across various web series. He was part of the 2017 sports-drama TV series Inside Edge. In 2023, Gupta shared screen time with stars like Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Aditi Rao Hydari, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ram Kapoor, and others in the hit show titled Jubilee.
In the year that passed, I had the honor of portraying Jawaharlal Nehru in Nikkhil Advani’s historical drama web series, Freedom at Midnight. Subsequently, I left a lasting impression on viewers with my compelling performance as Charles Sobhraj in Black Warrant. This captivating series delves into the life of Sunil Gupta, a jailer, and his time spent within the walls of Tihar Prisons, revealing how these experiences significantly shaped his existence.
In addition to Zahan Kapoor, the show produced by Vikramaditya Motwane and Satyanshu Singh also stars Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur, Joy Sengupta, Tota Roy Choudhury, Rajendra Gupta, Mir Sarwar, Rajshri Deshpande, Neelu Dogra, Shivam Rathore, Aarti Desai and several other talented individuals.
