Zahan Kapoor has long aspired to emulate his grandfather, Shashi Kapoor, and is now receiving acclaim for his role in the popular OTT series, Black Warrant. However, in a recent interview with Filmfare, the actor confessed that he was apprehensive about his ‘name and legacy’ weighing on him.

During a conversation with the mentioned publication, the newcomer Faraaz expressed his thoughts on nepotism. In his view, this often-disputed term refers to an unfair, unmerited advantage that someone receives due to a personal connection rather than their actual talent or qualifications.

Regardless of the situation, he was constantly reminded to never presume his idea would be easily obtained and that his father wouldn’t simply secure a job for him. He put it this way, “To be honest, the name and the baggage were so intimidating that I said, ‘If I don’t seize an opportunity when it presents itself, if a door opens for me and I don’t make the most of it, if I’m not ready, if I’m not prepared, if I don’t have the ability to stand tall and confidently enter that room, then I am a failure, meaning I’m cursed.’

Therefore, his perspective was that he shouldn’t shy away from fully utilizing opportunities. To clarify, he argued that there had never been any handouts given out. “In other words,” he explained, “it may seem simple to some, but if you have a reputation, it took me 12 years to get where I am.” The rising star expressed this thought.

Previously, Zahan shared with Bollywood Hungama insights about his bond with cousins Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. He openly acknowledged that during their childhood, there was a slight gap between them.
