Blake Lively’s ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ Co-Stars Share Message of Support for the Actress: “We Are Inspired by Our Sister’s Courage”

As a seasoned gamer who has seen countless virtual worlds and their intricate narratives unfold, I can’t help but draw parallels between these fictional realms and the reality of Hollywood. The latest chapter in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants saga is reminiscent of an epic quest, where our heroine, Blake Lively, finds herself facing a formidable foe – not a dragon or dark sorcerer, but a powerful figure within her industry.

On Sunday, Blake Lively’s co-stars from “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” shared a supportive message for her on Instagram.

A post was shared a day following revelations that Lively had submitted a detailed accusation against Justin Baldoni, her co-star in It Ends With Us and the film’s director, accusing him of sexual harassment and a planned attempt to tarnish her reputation.

On Sunday, America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel, Lively’s Sisterhood co-stars, shared a unified statement expressing their support for the actress.

“As Blake’s friends and sisters for over 20 years, we stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign waged to destroy her reputation,” they wrote. “Throughout the filming of It Ends With Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set, and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice. Most upsetting is the unabashed exploitation of domestic violence survivors’ stories to silence a woman who asked for safety. The hypocrisy is astounding.”

They went on to say: “It’s astonishing that a powerful, admired woman like our friend Blake can still encounter harsh backlash when she demands a secure work setting. Her bravery in advocating for herself and others fills us with inspiration.

The message was endorsed by Ferrera, Tamblyn, and Bledel. While Ferrera and Tamblyn posted the message from their individual social media accounts, it seems that Bledel is currently inactive on Instagram.

Based on TMZ’s report and the complaint filed by Lively last Friday, it appears that a meeting was convened during filming to address Lively’s allegations of a hostile work environment. According to the same report, Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, is said to have been among those who attended this gathering.

At that gathering, it was said that Baldoni was requested by me to cease some questionable behaviors: sharing explicit videos or pictures of women with the actress, bringing up his past alleged struggles with pornography, discussing intimate details of his life in front of me and others, referring to cast and crew members’ private areas, and inquiring about my weight.

Furthermore, Lively asserted that Baldoni and their associates supposedly orchestrated a “reputation-damaging” campaign using social manipulation tactics. The documents submitted reveal 22 pages of messages exchanged between Baldoni’s publicist and Melissa Nathan from TAG, who runs her own crisis PR firm. These messages suggest that Baldoni wanted Lively to be “eliminated,” and in response, Nathan stated, “we can’t say we will destroy her.

In an interview with The New York Times, Lively expressed her hope that her lawsuit would expose the underhanded tactics used to retaliate against individuals speaking out about misconduct and safeguard others who might face similar situations.

Bryan Freedman, the attorney for Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and all its representatives, released a statement slamming Lively’s claims. “It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions,” Freedman wrote.

Following the public disclosure about Lively’s grievance, I found out that my agent (WME) decided to part ways with Baldoni, who was also their client. Interestingly enough, they represent both Lively and Reynolds as well, my co-gamers in this virtual world we call Hollywood.
