Blink-182 temporarily stepped away from performing in stadiums to contribute funds towards rebuilding Los Angeles following the recent wildfires, as well as encountering an acquaintance they had not seen in a while.
On Thursday evening, the pop-punk group played a heartfelt, sold-out concert at the Hollywood Palladium, which was dedicated to helping Los Angeles fire recovery efforts. The proceeds from ticket sales will be given entirely to the Pasadena Humane Society, California Fire Department, LAFD Foundation, and ARC Firefighter Fund as part of this charitable event organized by Live Nation.
Kicking off the concert was Alkaline Trio, led by their frontman and guitarist Matt Skiba. This was the first occasion that Alkaline Trio performed together with Blink-182 since Skiba left the band after Tom DeLonge resumed his position as guitarist in 2022, alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker.

At the start of the performance, Alkaline Trio took to the stage with Matt Skiba at the helm. This was their first joint gig with Blink-182 since Matt’s departure from the band following Tom DeLonge’s return as guitarist in 2022, alongside Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker.
During their performance, Skiba made a surprise appearance with Blink-182, performing the 2016 hit “Bored to Death.” Hoppus humorously introduced Skiba as a lucky fan who had won a competition. He explained to the audience that when they announced the concert, they held a contest for people skilled at playing guitar, and so, he invited everyone to cheer for our contest winner.
Towards the conclusion of the song, Skiba embraced Hoppus followed by DeLonge. “Applaud for Matt, the mother-fucker,” Hoppus declared. “Can you feel the affection?” This remark prompted DeLonge to joke, “There’s so much palpable attraction.
Blink-182 mentioned that they are accustomed to performing in venues with more capacity than the Palladium, seating around 4,000 people. Interestingly, this band, formed back in San Diego years ago, had a packed show at SoFi Stadium in the L.A. region in July 2024, entertaining a whopping 51,000 fans.
After observing that he loves attending performances at the Palladium, Hoppus commented, “Usually, we perform in stadiums.” He further explained, “Performing in this small, cozy space feels like a fun pastime for us. It’s adorable.

The band, recognized for their humorously risqué stage interactions and off-color humor, maintained a lighthearted tone throughout the event, all while emphasizing the significance of fundraising. Hoppus commented, “We do this for the firefighters. When I make a remark like, ‘Buttholes taste like coins,’ that’s for the firefighters.
Blink-182 performed their entire set, which featured popular songs such as “All the Small Things”, “What’s My Age Again?”, and the recent hit “One More Time”. During the rendition of their iconic track “Dammit”, they incorporated a brief segment from the Chappell Roan song “Pink Pony Club”.
At the end of the performance, Hoppus expressed his affection, saying, “We adore you, Los Angeles!” He then paid tribute to the firefighters, first responders, volunteers, and everyone else tirelessly working to rebuild the city, expressing, “Let’s applaud for all of you!
