BMCM Row: Ronit Roy vows not to work with Vashu Bhagnani again; says dues cleared ONLY after Ali Abbas Zafar’s team intervened

As a seasoned professional in the entertainment industry who has witnessed my fair share of productions and their behind-the-scenes dramas, I find myself increasingly intrigued by the ongoing saga surrounding Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (BMCM). Having worked with some of the most reputable and trustworthy producers in the business, I must say that the allegations against Vashu Bhagnani have raised eyebrows.

Following allegations of unpaid wages, Vashu Bhagnani is currently a topic of discussion online. Members of the cast and crew have claimed that they were not compensated for their work on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. However, Bhagnani has countered these claims, accusing director Ali Abbas Zafar of mismanaging the project’s funds instead. Actor Ronit Roy, who was part of this production, has voiced his opinion on the matter and declared that he will not collaborate with Bhagnani in the future.

During his Zoom conversation, Ronit initially expressed gratitude for receiving a substantial portion of his acting wages from BMCM. He continued, “The funds were supposedly provided by Vashu Bhagnani and indeed they arrived from him, but only after Himanshu Mehra, who works with director Ali Abbas Zafar, stepped in to facilitate the payment.

He said that the payment of his staff and security company were all very much delayed and that was also cleared after Mehra pushed the baton. While Vashu claims that Zafar siphoned off Dubai’s shooting subsidy, Ronit counters saying his staff was paid from that fund only. Roy added, “In fact, Himanshu and Zafar are now only going all out to see that maximum payments are done in minimum time.”

During a follow-up discussion, Ronit Roy addressed Ali Abbas Zafar’s claims of unpaid remuneration totaling over 70 crores Indian rupees, which he described as widely known information. When pressed about Vashu Bhagnani’s assertion that Zafar had taken control of the movie, Roy expressed skepticism, stating, “Given Vashu was on set daily and is an industry veteran, it seems hard to imagine how he wouldn’t have noticed any irregularities.

When queried about potentially collaborating with Vashu Bhagnani once more, Ronit chuckled, hesitated, and unequivocally stated, “No.” On the autograph, Roy described his time working on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as ‘painful.’ For those not in the know, this 2024 film featured Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, who have yet to speak up about this ongoing controversy.

Daily developments are unfolding on the legal front in the case of Vashu Bhagnani vs BMCM artists, and TopMob ensures you’re always in the loop with exclusive updates from both parties. Keep an eye out for more news!
