BMW Teases First Looks at new "Entry-Level" Race Car

As a seasoned gamer with years of virtual racing experience under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of BMW‘s latest entry-level race car for the 2026 customer racing season! Having spent countless hours mastering the art of drifting and precision driving in games like Forza Horizon, Project Cars, and Assetto Corsa, the opportunity to translate that skill into real life is an irresistible allure.

BMW M Motorsport unveiled preliminary pictures of their upcoming vehicle, which is set to be an affordable option for customers participating in the 2026 racing season.

Without disclosing much about the specifics, BMW has hinted that the upcoming vehicle will serve as a complement to their lineup, similar to the BMW M235i Racing, BMW M240i Racing, and BMW M2 CS Racing cars in the entry-level racing category. Notably, like these models, this new car is aimed at offering a technically advanced yet cost-effective vehicle, acting as a transition point towards more competitive GT4 and GT3 classes.

Björn Lellmann, who leads BMW M Motorsport’s Customer Racing division, emphasized that they prioritize being close to their customers. This extends to providing a racing car that both established teams and new racers can afford, yet delivers top-tier BMW M Motorsport technology. Consequently, he is thrilled to unveil the upcoming models to replace the BMW M235i Racing, BMW M240i Racing, and BMW M2 CS Racing at this juncture. The engineering team is already hard at work in the early stages of development to ensure the car is tailored perfectly for customer usage.

At this point in time, we don’t have a set release date for the new entry-level model, but we anticipate receiving further details about it shortly.
