Boney Kapoor reveals he was called Cinderella at Raj Kapoor’s home for THIS reason; find out

As I reflect upon the profound reminiscences shared by Boney Kapoor about his cherished bond with the legendary Raj Kapoor, it stirs within me a poignant sense of admiration and longing for those bygone eras of cinematic brilliance.

One fascinating figure from the world of Indian cinema, Raj Kapoor, is being commemorated by his family in a special way as they celebrate what would have been his 100th year. In a recent interview, Boney Kapoor shared nostalgic memories and disclosed that he was affectionately called Cinderella at Raj Kapoor’s residence. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor would call him this nickname because ‘he often left the house late at night.’

In a recent chat with SCREEN, Boney Kapoor revealed that he was endearingly nicknamed Cinderella by the Kapoors, as they resided in the same Chembur neighborhood. On certain occasions, Raj Kapoor’s car would be parked and waiting for him to come home from work.

Afterward, they shared a meal and conversed from late into the night, around 4-5 am. Interestingly, Boney was affectionately referred to as “Cinderella” by Dabboo (Rishi Kapoor) and Neetu, as he was known for being active only after midnight, much like the classic fairy tale character.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to rephrase it this way: I myself am sharing that the producer of No Entry disclosed how Raj yearned to pay tribute to his wife, the esteemed actress Sridevi, by bestowing an award upon her. He reminisced that their last joint appearance was at the silver jubilee celebration of Mr. India in Delhi, which tragically occurred shortly before the demise of Raj Kapoor.

Boney requested Aag actor to present him with an award, but Raj decided to give it to Sridevi instead, stating, “I will hand it to her.” He ensured Sridevi sat at his table and disclosed to Boney that he wanted her for the film Ghunghat Ke Pat Khol.

Apart from sharing other insights, Boney reminisced on his heartfelt connection with the actor from Barsaat, characterizing it as intimate and warm. He reflected back to when he saw his debut film Hum Paanch for the first time, at which point Raj expressed to him, “You’ll pave the way for the initial Kapoor family branch.

In their conversation, they covered both work-related and personal topics, with Raj taking on the role of a mentor. Boney admired him deeply as someone who served as a guiding influence, whose career was an inspiration to him. He pledged that if he could reach even one percent of the level of success that Dhoon’s actor had achieved, it would be enough for him to realize his own aspirations.

He continued, saying that their bond was not only professional but also personal, and he considered Raj a friend and teacher. Boney expressed his deep respect and love for Kapoor, acknowledging that there were many private conversations between them that he would never disclose.
