Bonhams and Project Angel Food Announce Benefit Auction for Los Angeles Fire Relief

On Thursday, February 27, 2025, Project Angel Food is partnering with Bonhams for the reappearance of ANGEL ART event. This charitable auction will contribute all its earnings towards the organization’s essential services, aiming to rally the art community in aiding those impacted by the Los Angeles fires.

Established in 1989, Project Angel Food has been serving over 1.5 million individually designed meals annually to individuals battling life-threatening ailments. In collaboration with the county’s Food Equity Roundtable, they are lending aid to struggling organizations that cannot keep up with the rising demand for meals during times of crisis.

This auction gathers a remarkable assortment of pieces created by well-known artists such as Ed Ruscha, Shepard Fairey, John Baldessari, and Helen Frankenthaler. Additionally, up-and-coming talents like Awol Erizku, Carmen Argote, Todd Gray, and Nao Bustamante are also participating in the event.

Additionally, some standout pieces come from four artists who, though they’ve lost their homes, remain dedicated to fostering creativity and resilience through their work.

At a pivotal juncture, this occasion holds significant importance, as the wildfire has not only forced people from their homes but also exacerbated the hardships faced by the city’s most at-risk communities. As Project Angel Food CEO Richard Ayoub stated in a recent press release, “ANGEL ART is essential for continuing our mission of transformation.” In these challenging circumstances, the collaboration of artists, benefactors, and partners like Bonhams is indispensable to provide aid and instill hope for those who require it most.

Before the upcoming auction, there will be a public viewing period at Bonhams in Los Angeles from February 25th to 27th. Simultaneously, an online auction showcasing more than 60 items will take place from February 13th to 27th.
