2025 will see Book Works unveiling their inaugural collection, featuring relaxed clothing that elegantly pays tribute to jazz legends. The assortment includes a hoodie along with both long and short-sleeved T-shirts. It honors the great trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie through two officially licensed photographs, recognizes pianist Bud Powell with an artwork by Marshall Arisman, and pays homage to Chick Corea’s creative journey.
Diz’s collection offers two designs: one is a full-length portrait on a long-sleeved tee, while the other showcases him mid-laugh on a short-sleeved option. On the other hand, Arisma’s portrayal of Powell mirrors the image used for the 1982 reissue of his album “Inner Fire,” his first as a leader. Corea’s list of 16 points is clearly visible on the front of his tee, covering topics such as blending sounds and playing only what you hear. All designs prominently display the respective artist’s name at the back, using Book Works’ unique font inspired by “The Real Book.” Additionally, a hoodie with a recurring Book Works logo, a tee featuring a spectacled bird possibly symbolizing Corea, and a long-sleeved shirt with a squished saxophone design are also available as part of this tribute line.
Now, you can get the newest release from Book Works right away through their online store, as well as at BEAMS T in Japan and C’H’C’M. in New York City.
