As a hardcore Borderlands fan who’s been through countless Vault Hunter adventures since the original game dropped back in 2009, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Gearbox officially confirmed Borderlands 4 at Gamescom 2024’s Opening Night Live. After the letdown of Eli Roth’s movie, I was skeptical, but seeing that first glimpse of the next game has me optimistic that they’ll remind us why we fell in love with the looter shooter series in the first place.
At Gamescom 2024’s Opening Night Live, it’s officially confirmed that Gearbox Software is back with a new installment in the Borderlands series – Borderlands 4! After the letdown of Eli Roth’s Borderlands movie, there’s a lot riding on Borderlands 4 to bring us back to what made the looter shooter franchise so special.
Previously hinted at by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford following a cinematic setback, there was a whisper of Borderlands 4. However, in an attempt to mend our hearts, they unveiled a captivating sneak peek of the upcoming game during ONL.
