As an individual with deep roots in Indigenous culture, I find this collaboration between Born X Raised and Indigenous Enterprise to be a profound testament to the power of unity and representation. Growing up, I often felt like my heritage was underrepresented or misunderstood in the fashion world, so seeing collections like this one brings a sense of pride that’s hard to put into words.
As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to be part of the movement where Born X Raised teams up with Indigenous Enterprise. Together, we’re celebrating the rich heritage of Indigenous communities and pushing for increased representation in today’s fashion world. This partnership is more than just clothing; it’s a statement, captured beautifully by Atiba Jefferson in our campaign shots. We’ve got an empowering collection on deck, featuring graphic tees, crewnecks, and accessories that embody resilience and pride. Stay tuned!
As a gamer, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to this partnership, as Born X Raised has been instrumental in the path of Indigenous Enterprise and our unique narrative. Inspired by Indigenous Peoples’ Day, I set out to design this collection as a tribute to our rich heritage and a boost for our community. It was crucial that this line reflected us, made us visible and acknowledged, so here it is.
“The quote, ‘We are the grandchildren of the ancestors they couldn’t kill,’ resonates profoundly with me, symbolizing the strength of our ancestors and the resilience of our culture. Today, we stand strong, committed to preserving our heritage and honoring those who fought to keep it alive.”
The aforementioned mantra is featured in BXR’s signature Old English font on the collection’s centerfold, the Ancestors’ Tee. The Fancy Dancer Tee pays tribute to Indigenous artistry, stamped with the phrase “Legacy of Warriors they could never silence.” Rounding out the release come the Rocker Hoodie and Legacy Crewneck, as well as a New Era 59Fifty “Rocker Fitted” Cap, embroidered with “The ancestors they couldn’t kill.”
We’re thankful to Born x Raised for teaming up with us to promote understanding and aid Indigenous communities, focusing on organizations that uplift Indigenous youth. Our goal, in this collaboration, is to keep honoring our ancestors and preserving the rich cultural heritage they fought tirelessly to safeguard.
Check out the collaboration between Born X Raised and Indigenous Enterprise in the gallery above, which will be available for purchase starting Wednesday, October 16 at 12pm PST, exclusively on the Born x Raised official online store.
