As a seasoned gamer and audiophile with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Pro has caught my eye (and ear)! Having grown up with the original Zeppelin back in 2007 as an iPod docking station, it’s fascinating to witness its evolution through the years.
In 2007, Bowers & Wilkins introduced its wireless speaker, the Zeppelin, initially designed as a docking station for an iPod. Since then, the speaker has undergone multiple updates, and the most recent version is now available – the upgraded Zeppelin Pro model.
The updated Zeppelin Pro maintains its original design but includes refined enhancements, encompassing both aesthetic and technical aspects. It offers two new finishes, “Solar Gold” and “Space Gray,” and introduces an adjustable downlight feature. This feature enables users to customize the light color and either brighten or dim the illumination according to their preferences.
Just like the 600 Series speakers from B&W, the Zeppelin Pro incorporates titanium dome tweeters and a subwoofer design featuring a 150mm unit, which minimizes vibration for improved sound clarity. Moreover, this model is compatible with a range of B&W headphones and earbuds, allowing users to seamlessly transition between devices while enjoying the same track.
Last year, I had the chance to join forces with McLaren Automotive in creating a special edition of their iconic Zeppelin. This beauty boasted a sleek “Galvanic Grey” exterior and subtly illuminated accents in “Papaya Orange.” It was like gaming in a high-tech, supercar cockpit!
The new Zeppelin Pro is available for $799 USD on the Bowers & Wilkins website.
