As a longtime fan of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” (RHONJ), I must say that this season has been one for the books. The announcement that there won’t be a reunion special for the current 14th season came as a surprise, especially since it’s a first for the franchise.
Bravo isn’t done filming RHONJ quite yet.
For the first time in the history of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” franchise, there won’t be a reunion special to conclude the ongoing 14th season. According to reports, Bravo and executive producer Andy Cohen revealed halfway through the series that Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and their co-stars would not attend the usual reunion gathering this year. The heated tensions escalated during the upcoming finale, scheduled for Aug. 4, making it impossible to bring everyone back together for the annual sit-down with Cohen.
“Cohen expressed on Radio Andy’s Reality Checked in June that this Jersey finale was a timeless one, worthy of much discussion in the future. When we producers viewed the final cut, each of us independently arrived at the same conclusion: this episode encapsulated both the finale and the reunion.”
During that period, he mentioned that Bravo was considering an alternative finale other than a reunion, without disclosing any specifics.
Now, that ending is coming into focus.
On August 11, which is the Sunday after the finale, Bravo will broadcast a special show featuring the cast. This program was filmed earlier in the week, according to information obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. It’s possible that this footage may span more than one episode. Bravo did not provide a comment when contacted by The Hollywood Reporter.
On Mondays, the full acting crew assembled at a steakhouse in Towaco, New Jersey, for a finale viewing party. However, an unexpected twist: they were separated into two different areas to watch the episode unfold.
The cameras of Bravo captured the moment as Team Teresa and Team Melissa prepared to face off, showcasing the significant rift in their relationship that had developed over the course of 14 seasons for Teresa and 12 seasons for Melissa on “The Real Housewives” series.
In Giudice’s room, Jennifers Aydin and Goldschneider were present, along with some other cast members and a friend. Similarly, in Gorga’s room, there were Margaret Josephs, Rachel Fuda, Danielle Cabral, and another cast member as companions. Dolores Catania frequently moved between the two rooms.
There’s been a lot of talk amongst fans about what’s next for the “RHONJ” cast after the unconventional finish to season 14. With “The Real Housewives of New York City” having undergone a cast revamp lately, and “Vanderpump Rules” taking a break following its dramatic post-Scandaval season and controversial reunion, it seems reality TV upheavals are all the rage right now.
Normally, Producers don’t initiate talks about the upcoming season until the current one concludes. Therefore, the actors and Bravo audience looking forward to it must exercise patience and wait for further announcements.
