As a long-time follower of Brian Stelter and his insightful analysis of the media landscape, I am thrilled to see him returning to CNN! His deep understanding of the industry, honed over years spent navigating its complexities, will undoubtedly breathe new life into CNN’s coverage. It’s like having an old friend back in town, ready to dish on all the latest gossip and behind-the-scenes drama.
Two years following the termination of his “Reliable Sources” program on CNN, Brian Stelter is returning to the media network once more.
In a recent edition of CNN’s “Reliable Sources” newsletter, the reporter shared they are rejoining CNN in an exciting new position as Chief Media Analyst. This role will see them on-screen, creating digital content, and overseeing this very newsletter. Stelter mentioned that he is set to begin on September 9th.
Stelter left CNN in August 2022, during Chris Licht’s turbulent term as CEO, which only lasted for 13 months. Now under the guidance of Mark Thompson, who previously led The New York Times and BBC, CNN is once again revamping its news coverage. This includes changes to its organizational structure and a fresh approach to its digital news site.
Following Stelter’s departure from the network, Oliver Darcy assumed control over the Reliable Sources newsletter at CNN. He frequently writes about the media sector and Warner Bros. Discovery, its parent company, on a regular basis. In August, Darcy decided to start his own paid newsletter service, Status, which focuses on updates within the media industry.
More to come.
