Brie Larson to Star in J.J. Abrams Creature Horror Film Fail-Safe

Actress Brie Larson, last seen in 2023’s “Fast X”, will be back on our screens as she takes on the lead role and executive production duties for the monster movie titled “Fail-Safe”.

As reported, JT Mollner, who captivated spectators with his unique thriller Strange Darling last year, will helm the upcoming film. This movie, described as a contemporary twist on the monster horror genre, follows the story of a young boy who uncovers a chilling secret about his mother’s true identity that his parents have been hiding. The screenplay was penned by Brian Duffield and is adapted from a short story by Philip Fracassi. J.J. Abrams is one of the producers for Fail-Safe.

According to Abrams’ statement, Brian Duffield has crafted a remarkable script with “Fail-Safe”. This horror movie is not only frightening but also tender and emotional. The fact that JT Mollner is directing the film is like a dream come true. Lastly, having Brie Larson as the lead actress means that “Fail-Safe” could be one of those rare horror films that amuse, evoke emotions, and make you care, before leading you on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride.

Speaking as a fellow producer, I am thrilled beyond words to witness Brie stepping into this role. It’s terrifying, emotionally intense, and unlike anything she has tackled before. Will Avengers: Doomsday Feature Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel?

Fans are curious if Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau will appear in the crossover film Avengers: Doomsday, given that Larson hasn’t been confirmed for the movie, unlike Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and other major Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

The upcoming MCU blockbuster, according to reports, is expected to run for roughly six months, implying it will occupy much of the year 2025 in filming.
