The acclaimed sitcom “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” produced by Dan Goor and Michael Schur, has left a lasting impression among modern television viewers. Even though the series ended in 2021, it continues to be enthusiastically consumed on streaming platforms. Notably, Netflix is one of the most frequented platforms for revisiting this sitcom. However, there’s a catch: the final three seasons are currently absent from Netflix’s library. As of now, seasons 7 and 8 are still unavailable for streaming, but fans of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” can look forward to new episodes on Netflix in the near future.
As a dedicated film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! Starting February 26, seasons 5 and 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be ready for streaming on Netflix. However, US viewers are still in the dark about when seasons 7 and 8 might join them. On a somewhat disappointing note, the first two seasons will be leaving the platform on the same date. So, if you’ve been hesitating to dive into Brooklyn Nine-Nine, now is the perfect time! I wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic comedy series.
Debuting in 2013, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” chronicles the antics of Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and his detective colleagues at Brooklyn’s 99th Precinct. The series boasts an outstanding ensemble cast including Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Lo Truglio. Initially, we see the immature Jake Peralta and his equally unconventional peers adjusting to new management under the stern Captain Raymond Holt, portrayed by Andre Braugher. After eight seasons on FOX, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” shifted to NBC for its final three seasons from 2019. Over its duration, the show garnered two Primetime Emmys and nine other nominations.
‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Will Likely Never Be Revived
Similar to most well-liked sitcoms, enthusiasts of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” often wish for additional episodes. Although Season 8 might have been the least impressive among all seasons, it served as a heartfelt and emotional goodbye to the 99th Precinct and its beloved characters we’ve all grown fond of. However, despite fan desires, the show’s cast has a significant and justifiable reason for why a revival may not be suitable.
I, a movie enthusiast, was deeply saddened by the passing of the remarkable actor, Andre Braugher, in December 2023. Known for his notable roles in “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Glory”, Braugher will forever be remembered for his iconic portrayal of Captain Raymond Holt throughout the eight seasons of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.
In a recent interview, Melissa Fumero was asked about the possibility of reprising her role as Amy Santiago in a potential revival of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”. While this news may have left fans disappointed, Fumero’s response was for a good reason. She expressed that a revival without Braugher just wouldn’t feel right, stating, “I don’t think we could ever do it, though, without Andre [Braugher].”
This heartfelt sentiment underscores the profound impact Braugher had on both the show and its dedicated fan base. His absence will undoubtedly be felt in any future endeavors related to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.
