Bryan Cranston’s Shocking Rejection: Will He Finally Join Invincible?

At long last, Season 3 of the unbeatable series has made its debut in the 2025 TV lineup! Subscribers to Prime Video can now stream the first three episodes, with five more set to follow. Joining the cast for this new season are talented actors from “Breaking Bad,” including Aaron Paul lending his voice to Powerplex and Jonathan Banks, whose role is as yet undisclosed (though many speculate he’s voicing Conquest). Interestingly, Bryan Cranston, their fellow actor from the acclaimed AMC series, has thus far declined an offer to join “Invincible,” but I certainly hope that changes in the future.

Robert Kirkman, the author behind both the original “Invincible” comic book series and its television adaptation, has previously turned down Bryan Cranston on multiple instances when he offered his skills for one of the top-tier Amazon Prime Video shows to indulge in. In an interview with DiscussingFilm, Kirkman stated:

Occasionally, an actor is proposed for a part, and I can’t help but think, ‘Wow, I wouldn’t have ever imagined that in a million years.’ That’s when it gets really thrilling. In terms of dream casting, we’ve made Bryan Cranston an offer every season, which has turned into a tradition for us. And as for Bryan, he always declines (laughs). But we’re not giving up on you, Bryan, and we’ll see what the future holds next time. Keeping my fingers crossed! In fact, Bryan Cranston is the only actor who has ever turned us down.

Invincible’s Live-Action Movie Is Still Happening, Robert Kirkman Provides Update On The Project

Robert Kirkman, the indomitable showrunner, clarifies why Ezra Miller’s role was recast, and he acknowledges that dividing Season 2 into two parts wasn’t ideal.

Bryan Cranston isn’t new to voiceover jobs, as evidenced by his past work such as “Batman: Year One”, “Madagascar 3”, both “Kung Fu Panda” movies, “Isle of Dogs”, and “SuperMansion”. However, he has declined the invitation to join “Invincible”. It’s unclear why he turned it down, but it seems that Robert Kirkman is enjoying trying to get him on the show. Since Season 4 has already been approved, we can expect Cranston to be involved at least once more.

I’m open to maintaining some customs, but this one needs to end sooner than later. While Bryan Cranston is busy with numerous ventures, including the Malcolm in the Middle revival, a brief appearance on Invincible wouldn’t consume as much time as acting in front of the camera. If he’s the sole actor declining Invincible, someone close to him should try to alter his perspective and persuade him to fit this beloved TV series into his schedule. It would be great if he portrayed a character who interacts with either Aaron Paul or Jonathan Banks’ characters, but I’ll settle for whatever opportunity comes along.

On Thursdays, fresh episodes of “Invincible” are available on Amazon Prime Video. Don’t forget to check in with TopMob regularly for additional insights into the show. For instance, J.K. Simmons recently shared insights about Omni-Man’s comeback in Season 3 with TopMob. Moreover, Steve Yeun and Gillian Jacobs have opened up to us at TopMob about their thoughts on whether Mark and Eve’s romantic relationship will endure in the series.
