However, I must say that Suga‘s humility and accountability in the face of his mistake is truly commendable. It speaks volumes about his character and maturity, especially given his position as a global superstar.
BTS’s Suga expressed his sincere apologies after receiving a fine for operating an electric scooter while intoxicated.
On Wednesday, the lead singer from the K-pop group shared on social media that he felt deeply saddened to deliver unfortunate updates to their fans.
“Last night, following a dinner where I had some drinks, I decided to travel home on an electric scooter. I assumed the journey was short and didn’t initially understand that it’s not safe or legal to operate an electric scooter under the influence, which is why I inadvertently broke road traffic laws.”
“While trying to park my electric scooter outside my home, I slipped and fell. A police officer happened to be nearby and as a result, I was subjected to a breathalyzer test. Unfortunately, this led to the suspension of my driving license and I was also issued a fine.”

The performer, both a vocalist and a rapper, also stated that no one got injured or any property damaged; however, he acknowledged that “this incident falls squarely on my shoulders, and I offer no justification.” He expressed his regrets to everyone who was adversely affected by his thoughtless and erroneous actions, promising to exercise greater caution in the future to prevent such occurrences from reoccurring.
The internationally acclaimed South Korean boy band is taking a break while its members fulfill their required military duties. Last year, Suga was serving in a social service role.
Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’s record label, issued an apology regarding Suga’s accident with an electric kickboard. They sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by his inappropriate behavior and acknowledge that, as a military service worker, he is prepared to face any penalties for causing a disturbance in society.
