Bulova Reveals a Lunar Pilot Timepiece With a Blood Moon Dial

As a devoted fan of horology and space exploration, I am thrilled to see Bulova expand its Archive Series with the introduction of the Blood Moon Lunar Pilot watch. This timepiece is not just an addition to my collection but a testament to my fascination with the cosmos and the technological marvels that have enabled us to venture into space.

Moving forward with its Archive Series, Bulova introduces the Blood Moon Lunar Pilot watch as the latest addition to its collection of timepieces.

The name suggests that this timepiece features a scarlet dial, resembling the red hue of a Blood Moon. Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice a subtle textured pattern on the dial, mimicking the surface of the moon. From a distance, the vibrant watch face stands out further with its silver-toned tachymeter and subcounters, encased in a stainless steel case and bracelet that match.

The case width of this new design, measuring at 43.5mm, stays true to Bulova’s historic Lunar Pilot watch, which was once worn by the commander of the Apollo 15 mission in 1971. This contemporary adaptation is driven by a high-precision NP20 Quartz chronograph movement, delivering an exceptional accuracy level of 1/20th second.

Along with the stainless steel band, you’ll find an extra black leather NATO strap in the package. Both straps feature a quick-release mechanism, enabling effortless swapping between them.

The Blood Moon Lunar Pilot by Bulova is now up for sale at $895 USD on their online store.
