9 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on March 29 will mark the start of “Interspecies Love Letter: Sky Painting for EARTH to SPACE”. This event, taking place along the Potomac River in Washington D.C., will be spectacularly adorned with grand projections and unique fireworks courtesy of the renowned artist Cai Guo-Qiang, known as Sky Ladder. The Kennedy Center is responsible for this presentation, which serves as the debut of Guo-Qiang’s custom AI model, cAITM, that powers the projections in this dazzling fireworks display.
The fireworks display tells tales of the cosmos, encouraging spectators to reflect on humanity’s bond with Earth and the universe. This event is part of the EARTH to SPACE festival, and as stated by the Kennedy Space Center, it highlights the importance of collaboration and care in a universal context. Additionally, a related exhibition called cAITM Lab will be open from March 28 to April 13 at the center’s Skylight Pavilion, providing a glimpse into Guo-Qiang’s artistic approach that combines art and technology.
You can enjoy this complimentary event from various spots such as the Kennedy Center’s River Plaza, Roof Terrace, and other locations adjacent to the river. For additional details, please check out the Kennedy Space Center’s website.
