However, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are bucking the trend. In fact, the actress from “Bad Teacher” has recently been quite open about how her relationship with her musician husband blossomed.

Cameron Diaz returned from retirement to appear in the 2025 film “Back In Action,” which was released on Netflix. This news brought great joy to fans, as it came around the time of Diaz and Madden’s 10-year wedding anniversary. During a recent episode of “Artist Friendly with Joel Madden,” Diaz shared some insights about her marriage, revealing that the rapidity of their union was due to a personal reason. In a casual setting, she confided in her brother-in-law, who previously thought he had no chance with Diaz.

We decided to get married based on a gut feeling that the commitment and legal barriers would strengthen our bond, making it less likely for us to part ways. So, we went ahead with the marriage immediately and have been holding onto each other ever since.

It appears that whatever she’s been engaged in, it seems to be successful. A part of this might be because Diaz took a break from Hollywood around the same time she started dating Madden, and during their marriage, she hadn’t secured any acting roles. This period away from acting may have given her the opportunity to pursue other interests and raise their children, which she mentioned was necessary for her. Now, she appears eager to return to acting, but on The Graham Norton Show, she shared that this break was the best decade of her life.

It’s genuinely invigorating to listen to a celebrity openly discuss their life with their partner. What particularly captivates me is observing a pair flourish amidst the spotlight. While some might attribute this achievement to simply finding the suitable match, it seems like Cameron Diaz found her perfect fit in Good Charlotte’s musician, marking an end to her patient search.

Indeed, it can be said that this event is [the most significant thing to have occurred in Benji’s life], not just because I am saying so, but also from my perspective. At the time, I was older than him, and it seems strange that I hadn’t met him before, given how long I had been around. However, considering the incredible growth and achievements we’ve shared over the past decade, it’s hard to imagine either of us reaching these milestones without each other.

The two of them are incredibly affectionate towards each other, with Madden frequently expressing heartfelt sentiments on social media for birthdays and significant events. For instance, Diaz recently collaborated with Jamie Foxx in a new action movie, Annie, after initially being hesitant due to her responsibilities as a mother. However, her husband has been encouraging, even expressing his support for her return to acting through an Instagram post the day before the film’s premiere.

Ever since it became known that Cameron Diaz is part of the cast for “Back In Action“, there’s been a flurry of questions about her upcoming projects. It’s true that she will lend her voice to Princess Fiona in “Shrek 5“. Moreover, she’s hinted at the possibility of another “Charlie’s Angels” movie. However, she’s made it clear that she retains the option to never act in another film again, a decision I greatly admire.

Even though the beloved actress has taken on the new action-comedy role, it doesn’t automatically guarantee a steady stream of roles for her in the future. If Cameron Diaz decides to continue acting, she appears to have a strong backing at home due to her marriage with Benji Madden.
