Cannes 2025: Janhvi Kapoor’s savage response to haters calling her ‘plastic’ is too good to skip

Despite Janhvi Kapoor’s widespread popularity on the internet, there are some rude users who criticize her appearance. Currently, she’s generating buzz online due to her presence at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. However, a video emerged showing a more candid side of the actress, where she can be seen delivering a sharp retort to those labeling her as ‘fake.’

In the video, you can see Janhvi Kapoor preparing for her day 2 appearance. Surrounded by her hairstylists and makeup artists, they were busy crafting her look. While waiting, she sat on a chair in a red and white printed robe, taking a quick snack break.

In the video, she spoke directly to her audience, expressing, “I’m absolutely stunning! I’m utterly captivating! I can hardly wait for…dinner.” She also remarked, “They might call it fake, but who cares?” This comment left her entire team in fits of laughter.

On more than one occasion, Janhvi has openly acknowledged undergoing facial procedures. As far back as 2022, she shared a playful video on her Instagram stories. During the recording of this clip, someone off-camera unexpectedly interrupted the action.

Following some interruption, someone from Janhvi Kapoor’s entourage suggested she redo that part. But she playfully retorted, “I can’t do that. I have to keep it genuine.” Later, she humorously added, “Just like my face,” which caused those nearby to chuckle. To continue the light-hearted banter, she also made a hand gesture and said, “It’s a joke!” in Hindi.

To note, Khushi Kapoor, Janhvi’s sister and actress, confessed earlier this year to having undergone a nose job and lip augmentation. In an interview with Curly Tales, she expressed that it was not a significant matter. Nevertheless, the term ‘plastic’ is often employed as a severe insult by many.

At Cannes, Janhvi Kapoor was joined by her father Boney Kapoor, sister Khushi Kapoor, and Shikhar Pahariya. On May 21st, she attended the screening of her movie, “Homebound,” which features Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa as co-stars. Neeraj Ghaywan helmed the film, and during its presentation, it received a nine-minute standing ovation from the audience.
