Many Bollywood stars graced the red carpet at Cannes 2025, but fans have been eagerly anticipating Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s outfit choice this year. And she didn’t disappoint! The actress known for her role in Devdas opted for something new and chose a stunning ivory Banarasi handloom saree as her first look for the event.
Showcasing and highlighting the skill of Indian weavers, Mrs. Bachchan wore a saree adorned with intricate hand-woven brocade patterns and delicate silver threadwork. This stunning piece, designed by the renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra, was further accentuated with a translucent white tissue dupatta, also handmade. Precious metals like real silver and gold were skillfully embellished along the borders, lending an elegant royal touch to the ensemble.
Wearing an eye-catching saree, she accessorized with antique jewelry adorned with more than 500 carats of Mozambique rubies and raw diamonds. The actress from “Josh” opted for soft makeup but added a vibrant touch with her bright lips and the application of sindoor (vermilion) on her forehead.

For her second appearance on the red carpet, the actress from Dhoom 2 drew inspiration from Sunehri within herself and stepped out wearing a beautifully adorned gown in hues of silver, gold, charcoal, and black. The lengthy dress certainly took many by surprise, with admirers praising her for leaving no trace of elegance unclaimed.
The eye-catching dress that stole the limelight at the international event was specially designed by Indian fashion creator, Gaurav Gupta. Dubbed as ‘Heiress of Clam’, this one-of-a-kind creation features intricate hand-embroidery and sparkles with tiny glass beads. To complete her glamorous look, she wore a long cape made from Varanasi’s traditional Banarasi brocade fabric. This elegant accessory carries an inscription of a Sanskrit verse from the Bhagavad Gita, as designed by the designer himself.
