Capcom has been raking in profits from their remake series of Resident Evil games, while also maintaining novelty with their primary installments. The release of RE Village happened in 2021, leading some to speculate that a potential Resident Evil 9 might be on the horizon from Capcom.
In a freshly released video commemorating the sale of 10 million units of Resident Evil 4, some dedicated fans believe they’ve spotted hints or sneak peeks at RE9 for those who are keen-eyed observers.
Resident Evil 9 Teased?
Capcom recently shared a video commemorating the sale of 10 million copies, and in classic Resident Evil style, it features zombie characters donning party hats and celebrating. Interestingly, the final scene shows a picket sign saying “Thank you for playing,” leading some fans to speculate that it could be a hint towards Resident Evil 9 if viewed sideways.
It’s true that some might find it a bit far-fetched to interpret the image as hinting at RE IX, but there have been instances of more covert messaging in promotional materials in the past. With the last mainline installment released in 2021, it could be an opportune moment for Capcom to unveil that Resident Evil 9 might be on its way soon.
What to Expect from Resident Evil 9

Although the latest set of RE games featured Ethan Winters as the main character, his story appears to have concluded with Resident Evil Village. It now seems that the upcoming protagonist (or potentially antagonist) could be Ethan’s daughter Rose, who hints at possessing abilities that Chris has yet to discover.
Regarding the series, it’s essential for fans to understand that Resident Evil will consistently stand as a benchmark within the survival horror genre. Apart from its iconic monsters and zombies, the games are always brimming with intricate puzzles and traps waiting to be unraveled by the players.
I’m eagerly anticipating that they develop another character similar to Lady Dimitrescu, as it seems like her emergence in pop culture signified a significant shift – one that even those not into Resident Evil games could appreciate.
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that Resident Evil 4, the latest installment in the series (which unfortunately doesn’t include Resident Evil 9 yet), is now playable on various platforms! You can enjoy it on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 4|5.
