‘Captain America: Brave New World’ First Reactions After Premiere: “A Thrill Ride From Start to Finish”

The movie “Captain America: Brave New World” has touched down in Hollywood, and responses on social media are streaming in at breakneck speed, faster than a superhero sprinting circles around the Washington Monument.

In the upcoming movie “Brave New World“, Anthony Mackie takes on the lead role. This is over a decade after he first appeared as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier“, his debut within the Marvel universe. The story then follows his character, who assumes the role of Captain America, receiving the shield from Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019).

On Tuesday evening, before official reviews on Wednesday, social media responses and feedback from the premiere and press screenings started to come in.

Back in April 2021, Brave New World was unveiled, and ever since then, I’ve been eagerly waiting for its release. At a certain point, they were planning to debut it in July 2024, but just like many other titles, it got delayed due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes.

The movie directed by Julius Onah, titled “Luce,” features Harrison Ford playing General Ross, a character previously portrayed by the late William Hurt in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s not a spoiler to mention that Sam Wilson and General Ross won’t see eye-to-eye when the former is enraged, as he metamorphoses into the Red Hulk. Mackie assumes the role of Captain America in the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” where Danny Ramirez is introduced as his partner Joaquín Torres. In the film, Ramirez takes on the role of The Falcon. Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Giancarlo Esposito also feature in the cast.

Brave New World arrived in theaters on Friday. Read on for a sampling of the early reactions.
