Elwes is one of approximately 130,000 Los Angeles residents currently affected by the six active wildfires burning across L.A. County, which includes the Eaton, Hurst, Woodley, and Lidia fires as well as the recently ignited Sunset Fire in Runyon Canyon, Hollywood Hills. This latest fire poses a threat to notable landmarks such as the renowned Hollywood Bowl.
The blaze ignited in Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, then moved towards areas of Malibu and Santa Monica during the night. So far, at least five lives have been lost due to this fire, with only a single one being fully uncontrolled.
Actors Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, and James Woods, songwriter Diane Warren, as well as reality stars Spencer and Heidi Montag and Paris Hilton, have each verified that their individual residences were devastated by the wildfires.
Billy and Janice Crystal expressed, after their Pacific Palisades home of nearly five decades was destroyed by fire, that no words could capture the immense devastation they felt. Their house, filled with love and memories, is gone but those precious moments can’t be lost. Despite their sorrow, they remain hopeful, supported by the love of their children and friends.
Moore expressed deep sorrow and shock on behalf of everyone affected by the significant losses. He himself had lost his home to the Eaton Fire, but found himself unable to feel anything due to the overwhelming nature of the situation.”

“Moore conveyed his heartfelt sadness for those who’ve endured tremendous losses. He also admitted feeling stunned and speechless, as he had lost his home in the Eaton Fire himself.
“It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say,” said Woods on X.
Hilton said she is “heartbroken beyond words” after learning her Malibu home was destroyed.
According to TMZ’s report, the homes of actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, as well as Eugene Levy and John Goodman in Pacific Palisades, have sadly been destroyed by fire.
Levy, a star from Schitt’s Creek who holds the title of honorary mayor in Pacific Palisades, departed the region on Tuesday morning. Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, he described the smoke as “quite black and intense over Temescal Canyon… the smoke was extremely dark.”
The Palisades Fire additionally spread to Palisades Charter High School, a school that has long been a favorite spot for Hollywood filming, along with famous Malibu restaurants such as Malibu’s Reel Inn, Moonshadows, and Cholada Thai.
