The fusion of Homer’s epic poetry with Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi allure was an unexpected yet brilliant move. It’s like they’ve taken my favorite aspects from both my gaming and fashion worlds and blended them seamlessly.

Casablanca’s Fall/Winter 2024 campaign continues Charaf Tajer’s creative director’s theme from the runway: the lasting impact of ancient Greek culture in today’s world. Directed by Frédéric de Pontcharra, the video transports viewers on a thrilling journey through time and space, blending elements of Homer’s epic poetry with Stanley Kubrick’s science fiction film aesthetic. It’s a captivating odyssey that feels both classic and futuristic at once.

The video’s enchanting mood is influenced by Eleusis, an ancient Greek pilgrimage location renowned for its captivation of philosophers and playwrights. Models mimic the poses of Greek deities and heroic figures as they walk through Athenian streets, temple steps, swirling clouds, and spinning galaxies. This visual expedition resonates with the transformative experiences linked to the Eleusinian mysteries.

In terms of music, the campaign draws inspiration from popular ’90s videos and mirrors Björk’s 1993 hit song, “Venus as a Boy,” which serves as the namesake for this collection. Tajer shares, “Björk’s lyrics have always resonated with me. Her message encapsulates my ongoing quest for beauty and wonder.” The collection is a vibrant blend of colors, offering a harmony between structured shapes and delicate, dreamlike features.

The FW24 series harmoniously combines the elegance of classical design with the appeal of modern fashion. Notable items are gradient coats in celestial shades, mock neck tops featuring marble patterns, and jackets embroidered with flying angels. The collection’s color scheme, rich with vibrant blues, greens, and metallics, creates an otherworldly aura, while tailored tracksuits and sheer tennis attire reflect Casablanca’s heritage in high-end sportswear.
