As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for unique and practical tech, I must admit that my eyes were drawn to the Casio CRW-001-1JR Ring Watch like a magnet to metal. With its 50th anniversary celebration, Casio has outdone itself once again, offering us a miniaturized version of their iconic B2100 and B5000 series in a full metal ring design.
In the spirit of Casio’s 50th anniversary, they have introduced the CRW-001-1JR Ring Watch. This watch resembles a smaller version of the metal B2100 and B5000 series from G-SHOCK, pushing the idea of wearable timepieces even further.
Employing sophisticated Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technique, powdered metal is injected to fashion the intricate shape of Casio watches in a single, full-sized metal ring design. The case, back cover, and band are molded as one unified piece through glass bonding technology for a hermetically sealed construction.
The Ring Watch is designed for everyday use, featuring waterproof capabilities, and it uniquely shows the time in two distinct time zones simultaneously. The 7-segment LCD screen displays hours, minutes, seconds, dates, dual time, and stopwatch functions. Additionally, it comes with a light function that gently lights up your wrist at a predetermined time through a flashing light.
This modern timepiece, fueled by a tiny battery, merges digital accuracy with compact portability. The CRW-001-1JR Ring Watch, priced at ¥19,800 JPY (approximately $128 USD), will be released through Casio in December.
