CBS’ ‘Poppa’s House’ Adds a Third Wayans in Guest Role

As a longtime follower of the dynamic Wayans family, this latest news about Marlon joining his brothers on CBS’ Poppa’s House has me all sorts of excited! I can only imagine the hilarity that will ensue when these comedy titans share the screen.

CBS‘ Poppa’s House is about to become even more of a Wayans family affair.

Marlon Wayans will make an appearance as a guest star on the debut season of the comedy series, teaming up with his brothers Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. Their joint episode is slated for broadcast in February.

In the upcoming episode, Marlon will portray Melvin, Poppa Sr.’s troubled brother who drops by for a visit and proposes a fresh business venture. Despite Poppa’s caution about trusting Melvin, Ivy and Junior are hopeful that his past misdeeds are behind him.

This upcoming episode is going to serve as a get-together for Marlon Wayans and Atkins, who previously worked alongside each other on the NBC series “Marlon” during its run from 2017-2018.

Poppa’s House has comfortably found a place in CBS’ Monday schedule, sharing the spotlight with The Neighborhood during the early part of the season. In fact, CBS commissioned extra episodes for the series in November, bringing the total for its first season to 18. Tetona Jackson, Damon Wayans Sr., Jr., and Atkins are the stars, while Dean Lorey serves as executive producer alongside the Wayans duo.

At present, Marlon Wayans is working on a revival of the “Scary Movie” series in collaboration with his brothers Keenen and Shawn, as well as Rick Alvarez. He’s set to appear in the psychological thriller titled “Him” produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and directed by Justin Tipping, which is slated for release next year. Additionally, you might recognize him from his recurring role during season three of “Bel-Air” on Peacock. His representation includes 3 Arts Entertainment, UTA, and Yorn Levine.
