Chandu Champion's Kartik Aaryan opens up about paid reviews in industry: 'Humein to pata chal hi jata hai kaunse genuine...'

As a devoted fan of Kartik Aaryan, I can’t help but be in awe of his extraordinary journey and maturity beyond his years. His recent success with Chandu Champion is not just a testament to his acting prowess, but also his keen insight into the intricacies of the film industry.

Right now, Kartik Aaryan is enjoying the fantastic success of his recently launched movie, “Chandu Champion.” His portrayal in Kabir Khan’s biographical drama, which received both audience and critic acclaim, was particularly noteworthy. Although his film garnered positive feedback, Kartik openly discussed the issue of paid reviews in the industry and emphasized his ability to distinguish them from authentic ones.

In my recent interaction with News 18 Showsha, alongside director Kabir Khan, we delved deep into the triumph of our joint venture, Chandu Champion. During this engaging chat, we were queried about distinguishing authentic from compensated appraisals of our creative endeavors.

In response to this, Kartik swiftly acknowledged, “It’s clear to us who the genuine reviewers are and who aren’t, and sometimes there’s an ulterior motive as well.” He also noted that there is a vast number of reviews where “everyone seems to be a critic,” yet 99% of them are nothing but glowing reviews, which he hasn’t experienced for any of his films in the past.

The actor added that the movie was “surreal,” referring to all the chatter about the film, acting, and production process. He admitted his delight at audiences dissecting scenes and talking about them, saying, “This isn’t your typical biopic” and “it’s not just a sports biopic.” Kartik reinforced this by mentioning that they had discussed such aspects while filming, but they hadn’t anticipated the public would notice such details.

In agreement with Kartik’s perspective, Kabir Khan also stated, “It seems to bring you great joy when others begin to focus on minor aspects.” He noted that during filmmaking, attention is given to “tiny finishing touches” – be it in set design or acting. However, when people start noticing and discussing these details, it brings a sense of satisfaction as it showcases the hard work and dedication of the team behind the scenes.

Kabir pointed out that certain elements help identify an authentic review and reveal that the movie resonates with people genuinely. He also suggested that it’s possible to discern if a review is shallow or insincere. The filmmaker added that delving into the hidden aspects of a film, which may not be immediately noticeable but still touch the audience, shows that you have become completely engrossed in the movie (i.e., you got fully immersed in the film).

Kartik gave an example of Chandu Champion, mentioning that the movie has been receiving praise from people without any prompting. He continued by revealing that after Chandu Champion, he received messages expressing that former critics had become supporters, stating “I am rooting for you,” due to witnessing his journey and the film.

In the professional sphere, Kartik is set to appear in Anees Bazmee’s upcoming film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, sharing screen space with Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan. TopMob previously revealed that the filmmakers are considering a dance competition between Vidya and Madhuri Dixit.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share the exciting news that both grace personified Vidya and the radiant Madhuri are set to grace our screens together in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3! It’s been revealed by Bhushan Kumar and his team that they’re working on a revitalized version of Ami Je Tomar, which will be a mesmerizing dance number featuring none other than Vidya and Madhuri themselves. I simply can’t contain my excitement for this magical collaboration!
