As a passionate media enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about Channing Dungey’s expanded role at Warner Bros. Discovery! Her impressive track record and knack for identifying winning strategies make her the perfect choice to steer the U.S. TV networks business into uncharted territories.
Warner Bros. Discovery is assembling a fresh management team for its U.S. television network division, with Channing Dungey taking charge. Currently heading WBD’s TV studios group, Dungey will now oversee the U.S. television networks, following Kathleen Finch’s retirement. This change in leadership structure is expected to take effect soon.
Dungey announced the new structure Wednesday.
Based on the solid groundwork laid by Kathleen, I am thrilled to present the key members of our U.S. Networks leadership team. They will be responsible for shaping a fresh creative direction and distribution strategy that caters to our viewers, collaborators, and business needs,” said Dungey in a statement. “This dynamic team aims to reshape the identity of the U.S. Networks by strengthening our traditional broadcast while also cultivating a content factory that fuels Max and produces shows that intelligently utilize and showcase our unique intellectual properties.
The leadership roster will encompass Brett Paul, who assumes the COO position within the upcoming entity, alongside his existing role as president of Warner Bros. TV Group. Meanwhile, Howard Lee has been elevated to the post of chief creative officer, concurrently maintaining his president duties for TLC and Discovery. Lee’s responsibilities will extend to devising strategies crosswise the networks, Max, and globally; Sudan Kolar steps into the role of chief financial and strategy officer, with Karen Bronzo retaining her position as CMO for the group.
