Channing Tatum Says “Almost No One” Has Had His Back Like Ryan Reynolds: “He Fought for Me”

As a gamer with a soft spot for superhero movies and a deep appreciation for the behind-the-scenes camaraderie among actors, I can’t help but be thrilled by this heartwarming bromance between Channing Tatum and Ryan Reynolds. It’s not every day we get to witness such genuine admiration and support in Hollywood, especially when it comes from two powerhouses like these.

It’s a lovefest for Channing Tatum and Ryan Reynolds.

On Monday, the star of Magic Mike posted two pictures on Instagram, one from a decade back and another from this past weekend, both featuring him and Reynolds at San Diego Comic-Con. In his post, he reminisced about being in the audience during the convention where Reynolds unveiled the initial glimpse of Deadpool.

After rushing backstage immediately, I encountered him and, quite honestly, I believe I just embraced him tightly and exclaimed something like “Wow, you did it man!” He succeeded, and it was flawless. At the time, we weren’t particularly close, but since then, I can confidently state that there are few people who have supported me more in this industry than Ryan. (He wrote this in his caption.)

In the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine“, Tatum appeared as a guest star, acting alongside Reynolds, and took on the role of Gambit, a superhero he was initially slated to play in a separate film that was canceled after Disney purchased 21st Century Fox.

“Initially, I believed Gambit had slipped away from me permanently,” the Blink Twice star wrote in his post. “Yet he fought for both of us, and I’ll be indebted to him for an eternity. I can hardly imagine a deed that could match the significance of this experience for me. Buddy, I adore you! Kudos also to Shawn Levy, an exceptional creator in every aspect. Every event has its purpose. I feel so fortunate to be part of this movie. To me, it’s a masterpiece. And nothing but sheer, raw exhilaration. I was actually yelling in the theater. LFG!!”

And it didn’t stop there.

On Tuesday, Reynolds reposted Tatum’s Instagram story and showered him with admiration, describing him as not just a “talent of a generation,” but also an exceptional human being.

“The actor from ‘Free Guy’ expressed that it seems as if he personally created a character, which is what Chan actually accomplished. Not only did Chan bring this vibrant character to life, but it appeared as if he was destined to play this role flawlessly.”

Later, he playfully teased Channing Tatum about wearing the same shirt to both conventions they attended together: “We’ve been to two San Diego Comic Cons together. The two best days of my life happened when @ChanningTatum wore this shirt. Was it a coincidence or a secret plan?”

Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters now.
