Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY’s Fall 2025 “Fight Night” Was Personal and Political

At Dover Street Market in Paris, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY staged an extravagant “Fight Night,” a unique event showcasing London’s volatile nightlife culture for one night only. The event featured performances by BULLYACHE and Dinah Lux on the piano. In the dimly lit basement studio of the retailer, models representing the British designer took to a real boxing ring, performing tense choreography and intense fight scenes to present the Fall 2025 collection, titled “I Am a Product.

The two-hour extravaganza, characterized by intense emotions, served as more than just a trick to satisfy algorithms; it was a bold statement of defiance – one that particularly honored the creativity and courage of queer artists, in a world where they face hostility towards gay, transgender, and immigrant identities. As the models from LOVERBOY, with their glassy skin, menaced, embraced, and clashed within the confines of the cockpit, it became evident that the show’s intent was not merely political but deeply personal as well. “For the first time in my career,” Jeffrey stated, “I designed this collection without resorting to research. This season emerged directly from my sketches, my emotions, and my spirit.

Jeffrey went on to say, “This is an incredibly intriguing period to be a designer. Unfortunately, the industry tends to view creative individuals as mere chess pieces, moved around and cast aside whenever it suits them. This harsh reality made me ponder over the notion of being a ‘product’—something disposable—rather than someone whose narrative and talent are cultivated. It serves as a sobering thought about how temporary fashion trends can be, but also underscores its fundamental role in storytelling.

In this fashion style, we showcased LOVERBOY’s iconic vibrant knitted garments, striped satin jackets, innovative twisted jerseys, essential graphic tees, baggy trousers with a droopy fit, animal-themed headgear, and banana-shaped footwear and accessories. Interestingly, the collection boasted a striking collaboration with Pornhub, offering skin-tight sheer clothing, sexually suggestive graphics, and knitted lingerie.

According to Jeffrey, the line represents a delicate equilibrium that many modern fashion brands encounter: “expressing complex narratives through art, yet ensuring the pieces are both thought-provoking and practical for everyday use.
