Charli XCX Pitches “It Girl” ‘Final Destination’ Film Starring Rachel Sennott, Jenna Ortega: “Just Hot People Getting Killed”

Charli XCX has an idea for the next Final Destination film.

The award-winning musician has shared on TikTok her affection for the popular supernatural horror-thriller series, which recently debuted its new film, “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” and has also proposed a spinoff featuring today’s most famous women.

She mentioned in the video that she’s currently re-watching all of the ‘Final Destination’ films before catching the latest one, ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’, which she’s eagerly anticipating. What draws her to these movies is their straightforward premise: attractive people meet a grisly end. There’s no deeper meaning or moral lesson; it’s essentially, ‘they’re attractive, they’ve been cursed and they’re doomed to die.’

Charli also has a concept for the ideal cast and director. “I was considering,” she said, “that perhaps this franchise could have a modern take, similar to a ‘Girl Power’ version.” She added, “Imagine something akin to a ‘Final Destination’ movie, but with rising stars like Rachel Sennott, Alex Consani, Gabbriette, Romy Mars, myself, Quenlin Blackwell, Devon Lee Carlson… perhaps there could be a Scream Queen character such as Jenna Ortega. Maybe even an original Scream Queen like Sissy Spacek. And then it would also be directed by a renowned horror director.

Six films under the Final Destination series have been released, with Bloodlines being one of them, premiering on May 16. The first movie came out in the year 2000. Interestingly, the most recent release turned out to be one of the franchise’s highest-grossing debuts, raking in an impressive $51.7 million at the domestic box office, surpassing predictions for success.

Charli suggested that the films could continue following their usual pattern, as she believes they are meant to fit into the established lore. In a humorous manner, these movies often mock their own mythology, and Charli doesn’t see any reason for this particular one to be an exception. Essentially, her idea is that it’s all about featuring attractive characters meeting grisly ends and incorporating over-the-top dialogue.

Currently, there’s no officially announced movie in progress, but Sennott appears eager to take on the role if needed, as indicated by his comment in the video section: “I’m in…
