Check Out This "Lucky Shorts"-Themed Air Jordan 3

As a long-time sneakerhead who has been following the Air Jordan line since its inception, I am thrilled about the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 3 “Lucky Shorts” next year! The story behind this colorway, inspired by Michael Jordan’s superstitious practice shorts that he wore during games, adds a unique and interesting twist to an already iconic silhouette.

Item Name: Air Jordan III – “Lucky Shorts” Edition

Update: As we look towards 2025, while much attention may be focused on the Air Jordan 1’s 40th anniversary, the Air Jordan 3 is gearing up for a strong year as well. The reappearance of the “Black Cat” and “Pure Money” color schemes will provide sleek all-black and all-white styles, respectively. Additionally, a new colorway named the “Lucky Shorts” has emerged following rumors from June. This pair features a white leather upper with gray suede at the mudguard and light blue accents on the Jumpman branding and part of the midsole. The release is now expected to occur on February 22 of next year through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, priced starting at $200 USD.

As Jordan Brand is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary, they are delving into every detail of Michael Jordan’s career and associated mythology. One belief linked to him was that a pair of practice shorts from the University of North Carolina would bring him luck for each game. He used to wear them under his uniform during games, even while playing for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. This was one of his pre-game rituals.

Currently, there are whispers that the Jumpman team is planning to highlight an enjoyable aspect of their legacy by creating a “Lucky Shorts”-inspired version of Air Jordan 3 sneakers. As of now, no actual images of these shoes have surfaced (though a speculative design is shown above), but it’s reported that they will feature a color combination of “Summit White,” “Hydrogen Blue,” “Legend Blue,” “Photon Dust,” “Pure Platinum,” and “Sail.

As I write this, it’s undecided if Jordan Brand will be releasing the “Lucky Shorts” colorway of the Air Jordan 3. Keep an eye out for announcements, as we anticipate a sneak peek of the shoes later in the year. We expect them to hit stores next spring, potentially through Nike SNKRS and various retailers, priced around $210 USD.
