Chhorii 2’s Soha Ali Khan admits being ‘constantly anxious’ about parenting daughter Inaaya: ‘Not all of India is…’

Soha Ali Khan is preparing for the premiere of her upcoming film Chhorii 2, where she will play an intense villain alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha. The plot centers around old beliefs concerning the birth of a girl. As a mom to Inaaya, Soha openly expressed her concerns about nurturing a daughter. She stated that not every corner of India has fully embraced the 21st century yet.

In a conversation with News18, Soha Ali Khan spoke candidly about the ongoing apprehensions that come hand-in-hand with parenting, particularly when raising a daughter. She expressed, “There’s always a sense of unease. Is she getting enough sleep? Is she sleeping too much? As it is, I’m prone to worry, and if you’re a mother to a girl, there are additional concerns.

The actress from The Chhorii 2 likewise revealed her ongoing challenge of striking a balance between providing safety without being overly controlling, all the while grappling with the uncertain threats that the world poses, particularly during the era of social media.

Soha discussed the challenges faced in bringing up a daughter in India and emphasized that being a woman in this country can be perilous at any point in life. She explained that circumstances greatly vary based on the family, location, and societal norms one is born into. Furthermore, she stated, “India isn’t entirely modern.

In my fervent enthusiasm, I’d like to share that I too hail from a somewhat sheltered milieu, and the choice to work on Chhorii 2 wasn’t primarily influenced by its socially resonant theme. Instead, it was the allure of the story itself that drew me in.

Soha Ali Khan discussed how working on Chhorii 2 provided an opportunity for her to delve into unsettling truths beyond her usual comfortable realm. She pondered over the notion that situations frequently mold a person’s shadows, expressing that wickedness is rarely inherent but more often a product of life experiences. With a playful tone, she quipped that her co-star Nushrratt Bharuccha might have differing opinions since she has encountered individuals who appear to be naturally malevolent.

On April 11, 2025, the sequel to Chhorii will make its debut on Prime Video. The movie is helmed by Vishal Furia and produced by T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment, Psych, Tamarisk Lane Productions. In the lead roles are Nushrratt Bharuccha, Soha Ali Khan, Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma.
