In a recent chat, the actress shared her reasons for returning to acting, choosing to take on an antagonist role in a chilling horror movie. The follow-up to the 2011 film Chhorii has just appeared on a popular streaming service, starring Nushrratt Bharuccha. In addition, Soha Ali Khan appears in this chilling production, taking on a surprising role. In an interview with PTI, Khan explained why she chose to return as the villain in a horror film.

After becoming a parent to Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, the newcomer (Dil Maange More debutant) admitted that she became consumed by her daughter, to the point where she neglected films, family, friends, her husband, and everyone else. Now that her child has grown older, Soha recognizes that she no longer needs her daughter in the same way as before. This realization prompted Soha to seek out new interests and rediscover her own identity.

Currently, the daughter of Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan is seeking opportunities to work again as she feels unneeded at home. She has also confessed to feeling lost, but is eager to rediscover herself. “The truth is, one should never lose oneself,” Saif Ali Khan’s sister stated, followed by, “I enjoy what I do, so I took a brief break, but I’m now returning.

In that very interview, I, a fervent admirer, gleefully shared how, at 46, an offer from directors Vishal Furia and producer Vikram Malhotra to play an antagonist in Chhorii 2 was like manna from heaven. Without a moment’s hesitation, I eagerly accepted the role. You see, my passion as an actor yearned for the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of a negative character, all because of my profound affection for the horror genre.

Besides expressing her agreement, she notes this particular style of cinema is particularly powerful, capable of immersing viewers, provoking emotional responses, and leaving lasting impressions. For instance, after witnessing a horror film for the first time, the actress from Rang De Basanti admitted that it was so intense, she struggled to sleep for three whole months afterwards, illustrating its profound effect.
