Chicago Med Season 10: The Real-Life Story Behind Episode 10’s Conjoined Twins

Chicago Med” often draws inspiration from actual incidents in its storylines. For instance, the Season 10 opener references one of Chicago’s most significant maritime disasters. Similarly, many compelling episodes of “Chicago Med” are loosely based on real-life medical cases that have been transformed into fiction.

In its history for the second time, the show delved into conjoined twins in Season 10, Episode 10, titled “Broken Hearts.” The storyline revolved around fictional conjoined twins, Powell and Elijah Hughes, portrayed by real-life, non-conjoined twin actors Jason and Victor Turner. During the separation surgery, complications arose due to a tumor near Elijah’s heart. Initially, it seemed that only one of them would survive, but against all odds, it was Elijah who pulled through despite his tumor, while Powell suffered a stroke.

For several decades, Victor and Jason Turner have coexisted and shared life together. Yet, despite their twinhood, they’ve built individual and notable careers in acting. Over the last twenty years, their professional paths have led them to intriguing destinations independently.

Jason and Victor Turner both have impressive resumes

Victor Turner and his twin brother, Jason, are indistinguishable duplicates who’ve spent decades working in the fields of modeling and acting separately and collaboratively. They’ve modeled for Tommy Hilfiger as the “Tommy Twin” duo and graced reality talk shows prior to venturing into acting.

Victor Turner has made appearances on television shows including “House of Payne,” “Army Wives,” “Nashville,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “One Tree Hill” and “Drop Dead Diva.” Additionally, he can be seen in films like “Mom’s Night Out,” “Cooking Up Christmas” and “Psycho Sweet Sixteen.” Alongside his acting career, Turner also operates a personal training business called Faith and Fitness alongside his wife.

Jason Turner stands out as the more active performer between the two, with roles such as James Hicks in “Women of the Movement,” Marcus Colvin on a recurring basis in “The Walking Dead,” lawyer Gideon Wilson who might be Captain America’s brother in “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law,” and Abe in ‘”BMF.” Additionally, he has taken part in Christmas TV films like “Rolling Into Christmas” and “Dashing Through the Snow.” While both twins have shared roles, it seems that Jason has transitioned more into character acting compared to his brother. Interestingly, they’ve collaborated on projects and also worked independently, a lesson Elijah sadly discovers too well.
