Chris Collins, Kelly McKee Launch Genre Content Banner Generator Entertainment

As a seasoned gamer with an insatiable appetite for genre content, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the formation of Generator Entertainment. With Chris Collins, a screenwriter whose work on shows like Sons of Anarchy and The Man in the High Castle has left a lasting impact on my entertainment hours, teaming up with Kelly McKee, who has co-produced The Crow and Paterno, I see a powerhouse duo ready to deliver top-notch action, sci-fi, and horror content.

Screenwriter of the movie “John Wick 3”, Chris Collins, joins forces with film producer Kelly McKee (known for “Paterno” and “The Crow”) to establish a production company specializing in genre content, called Generator Entertainment.

Additionally, veteran entertainment attorney Ken Browning stands behind this fresh production and financial enterprise. The objective of this endeavor is to create, produce, and financially back film, television, and general entertainment content within the genres of action, sci-fi, and horror. This content will fall under the budget range of $5 million to $20 million.

Collins boasts a list of achievements that includes working on FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”, Amazon’s “The Man in the High Castle”, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and Starz’s “Crash”. On the other hand, McKee held the position of production head at Pressman Film and served as co-executive producer for Lionsgate’s “The Crow”, Mary Harron’s “DaliLand”, and co-produced HBO Film’s “Paterno”, directed by Barry Levinson.

Generator Entertainment additionally receives support from Hill Country Studios, an out-of-town film production company based near Austin, Texas, which will contribute financially to future projects filmed on their sound stages.

The new venture hasn’t revealed any particular projects within its pipeline yet, but it has obtained rights to significant intellectual property. This includes a screenplay by an unnamed Oscar winner, which is being developed along with Appian Way Productions. Two of the upcoming Generator projects are scheduled to be filmed at Hill Country Studios towards the end of 2025, while another two are planned for 2026.

Generator Entertainment’s Collins, McKee, and Ken Browning expressed in a statement that they were motivated by Cord Jefferson during his Oscar acceptance speech, as he advocated for Hollywood to produce twenty $10 million movies rather than focusing on a $200 million blockbuster.

The team is dedicated to launching a fresh brand in Hollywood, specializing in high-quality horror, action, and sci-fi productions that resonate with genuine genre enthusiasts. Beyond domestic ventures, we’re also excited about international collaborations with talented filmmakers. To ensure our projects meet the highest standards, we have an experienced writer on board for quality control, and a well-balanced group of founders to guide our strategic choices.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ll be dedicating my efforts towards forging strategic alliances in the vibrant gaming landscapes of Japan and South Korea. These regions are rich in innovative intellectual properties and nurturing local talents who are creating amazing games. I can’t wait to collaborate with them!
