This shift was confirmed with the announcement of the “Doomsday” subtitle at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Interestingly, it was also revealed that the Russo Brothers would be back to direct the film, and surprisingly, Robert Downey Jr. was cast as Victor von Doom. Now, it seems Chris Evans might rejoin the team, which could mean Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, could play a role in wrapping up the “Multiverse Saga.
It is yet unclear (if the information in this report is correct) which character Evans might portray, or even if he’ll appear at all. Lately, Evans reappeared in the MCU with Deadpool & Wolverine, but not as Steve Rogers; instead, he was Johnny Storm/Human Torch from his past comic book movie roles.
