At the premiere of Netflix’s sci-fi adventure film “The Electric State”, Chris Pratt, who played Star-Lord in the MCU, evaded questions about his potential return for “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. When asked if he might work with the Russo Brothers again, as fans have expressed their desire to see this, Pratt subtly hinted at it without confirming anything directly. A Deadline reporter observed a significant look from Pratt, which seemed to suggest that he is aware of the situation, saying, “I know that. I know.” You can watch a video of this intriguing interaction below.
As a follower, I’m excitedly sharing that Marvel Studios is said to be gathering more than 60 Marvel Cinatic Universe heroes to square off against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in the upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are gearing up to start principal photography in March. Unfortunately, we might have to wait a bit longer to learn who exactly will be joining forces for this epic team-up, as Marvel is known for keeping secrets tight (and attempting to keep things mysterious) for their major productions, especially the big ones.
It’s been made clear that certain actors have accepted their parts in the upcoming Avengers film. Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man, and Anthony Mackie will once again play Captain America. Hayley Atwell takes on the role of Agent Peggy Carter, while Marvel’s First Family is back following their debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Initially, Benedict Cumberbatch denied being part of Avengers: Doomsday, but he has since corrected his earlier statement regarding this project.
When Will the Legendary Star-Lord Return?
Chris Pratt first appeared as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” He then continued with two sequels, released in 2017 and 2023, also appearing in “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame,” and “Thor: Love and Thunder.” The third volume of “Guardians of the Galaxy” signaled the conclusion of his journey with the eclectic team. However, a post-credits scene at the end of the movie hinted at Star-Lord’s return, fueling excitement among fans about where they might see him next.
There’s widespread speculation that his comeback isn’t a matter of “if,” but rather “when” we’ll see him on screen again. While there’s a good chance that the witty Star-Lord could embark on a standalone adventure, similar to the comic book series, it’s also possible he might rejoin an ensemble cast in a future film. With two upcoming Avengers movies, it’s quite likely that Star-Lord may show up in one or both of them, lending his hand to protect the universe from imminent dangers.
Anticipation is bound to rise as we approach the releases of two highly-anticipated Avengers films: “Avengers: Doomsday,” slated for May 1, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” coming to theaters a little over a year later on May 7, 2027.
