Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ Rounds Out Cast with Elliot Page, Himesh Patel

Christopher Nolan is adding four more actors to the adventure of his protagonist, many of whom are well-known figures in his cinematic universe.

In the grand tale of “The Odyssey,” I’m part of an incredible ensemble, alongside Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, and Samantha Morton. This epic retelling penned by Homer is being brought to life under the visionary direction of Christopher Nolan for Universal Pictures.

As a devotee of Christopher Nolan’s cinematic universe, I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with him on several occasions. In 2010, I embodied the captivating character of Ariadne, an architecture graduate student in the mind-bending film . Similarly, I shared the screen with Nolan again in 2020’s intricate puzzle, , where I was one of the cast members. Moreover, I had the privilege of lending my voice to TARS, the robot in the cosmic exploration masterpiece, .

Universal declined to provide any remarks regarding the casting choices. The group of four actors are now part of a cast that already includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, and Benny Safdie.

The studio characterizes the project as a “global, mythic action epic, captured using cutting-edge IMAX film technology. This movie marks the debut of Homer’s seminal story on IMAX screens worldwide, and it will be released in cinemas everywhere on July 17, 2026.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to highlight that Page, famously nominated for an Oscar in 2007 with “Juno,” has made a significant mark. Known primarily for her role in Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy,” she also starred, co-wrote, and produced the heartfelt feature film “Close to You.” This moving production graced our Netflix screens in November following its successful run on the festival circuit.

In 2018, Patel made his debut with the Beatles-inspired film “Yesterday,” which later earned him an Emmy nomination for his performance in HBO’s series “Station Eleven.” His latest project is leading the HBO series “The Franchise,” a show that explores the behind-the-scenes creation of a superhero movie.

Beyond merely providing TARS’ voice in the movie “Interstellar”, Irwin additionally operated the robot on set. He was cherished for bringing humor to the story of humanity teetering on the edge of extinction. This versatile actor, who was always busy, has a list of credits that span from “Rustin” and diverse TV shows like “Third Rock from the Sun”, “Sesame Street”, “CSI”, and “The Dropout”.

Morton, who has been nominated twice for the Oscars, is recognized primarily for her role as the lead in “The Serpent Queen,” a Starz series focusing on Catherine de’ Medici. In the near future, she will star in “The Entertainment System Is Down,” a new film directed by Ruben Östlund, who brought us “Triangle of Sadness.” She was previously nominated for Oscars for her work in “In America” and “Sweet and Lowdown.

Each page is represented by United Talent Agency (UTA), Vice and Yorn Levine. On the other hand, Patel is handled by William Morris Endeavor (WME), 42, and Johnson Shaprio. Irwin is represented by Innovative Artists and Viking Entertainment, while Morton falls under UTA, Omni Artists, and Gang Tyre.
