Christy Carlson Romano is currently recuperating following an incident at her husband’s birthday gathering, where she sustained an injury to her eye from a source other than herself.
On Saturday, an Instagram post from the former star of “Even Stevens” revealed that she had given her husband a gift of clay pigeon shooting. Unfortunately, while they were enjoying this activity, another person carelessly discharged their firearm in the wrong direction, leading to the actress being accidentally shot.
She was struck at five spots, as she noted in her caption. However, “one came dangerously close to striking me squarely in my right eye, missing by only a small margin.
Despite being declared “safe” and having normal vision restored, she mentioned that she’s still under the watchful care of medical professionals as there remains a piece in her eye and another embedded in her forehead.
Though she’s now considered “safe” and can see clearly again, she explained that she’s still being closely examined by doctors due to a particle still residing within her eye and another lodged on her forehead.
Or even more casually:
She’s all good with her vision now, but the docs are keeping an eye on her since there’s still some debris in her peeper and a bit stuck up top on her dome.
Unfortunately, the fragment behind her eye isn’t safe to take out through surgery right now. (or) At present, it’s not advisable to perform surgery to remove the fragment behind her eye.
She publicly thanked the first responders and employees at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, including her husband who, she noted, swiftly responded, evaluated her condition, and urgently transported her to the hospital.
She expressed deep gratitude towards first responders in a video she shared on Instagram. In essence, she considers them as incredible, almost like superheroes, who are there for us during our darkest moments.
And she’s thankful to have survived the ordeal.
After all that transpired, it’s only my gratitude for still being alive that fills my thoughts,” she penned. “My love for my daughters, husband, family, and friends runs deep. It felt like I was reliving my life in a heartbeat, and let me tell you this: cherish the people close to you whenever you get the chance. Life can unexpectedly take a turn in the blink of an eye.
