As an ardent fan who has grown up watching these Bollywood legends, I must say that the camaraderie between Govinda, Chunky Panday, and Shakti Kapoor is truly one of the most entertaining aspects of their careers. Their shared experiences, filled with humor, wit, and a dash of mischief, have not only enriched our entertainment but also provided us with fascinating insights into the world of Indian cinema during the 80s and 90s.

For decades, Chunky Panday, Govinda, and Shakti Kapoor have been close friends off-screen, having provided laughter to audiences during the 80s and 90s. Not long ago, Chunky reminisced about a humorous episode from the past when Shakti assisted him in securing ten movies in one evening. This led to Chunky earning Rs. 50,000 from their advance payments. Moreover, he confessed that he was once paid for attending a funeral and even offered extra money if he showed emotion at the event.

The three recent visitors on The Great Indian Kapil Show, a lively quartet now, regaled the audience with captivating tales from their long-standing friendship. Chunky Panday, in particular, disclosed some intriguing details about their bond, including an amusing episode where Shakti Kapoor attempted to discreetly facilitate better opportunities for him during his early career days.

Panday shared that one time, the actor from Raja Babu took him to a social gathering and introduced him to several movie producers. At this event, he presented the star from Housefull as the upcoming sensation within the film industry, leading these professionals to extend ten film offers on the spot and pay him Rs. 50,000 in advance.

Chunky shared that he had collected all the money from everyone’s pockets and passed it on to me that evening. He also mentioned that he signed approximately ten movies that night, an event made possible by Shakti ji.

Nevertheless, a humorous twist unfolded when, later on, nine of those directors chose to reclaim their funds. In the end, the actor was only able to star in a single film. Known for his sharp retorts, Kapoor quipped that the actor was telling untruths about returning the money. He then posed a question to the audience, challenging their belief in his intention of returning the money.

In a freshly amusing twist, Chunky offered an intriguing tidbit about his profession, disclosing that actors sometimes participate in funeral events to boost their earnings. Panday clarified that during the 80s, these events were the primary income source for actors, as they had limited opportunities in films. Consequently, he frequently attended such events on a regular basis.

On a particular occasion following the conclusion of his filming, an invitation arrived for an event where the host requested attire in white. The actor paid little mind to this suggestion, and attended anyway. However, upon arrival at the venue, the Aankhen actor found himself perplexed as whispers circulated among the crowd about his presence.

In his account of the event, he explained, “I stumbled upon a deceased individual, unaware that it was a funeral. Thinking perhaps the organizer might have passed away before my arrival, I sought him out. I found him in a corner and inquired about him. He responded, ‘Sir, there’s no need to worry, your payment is safely with me.’

In a surprising disclosure, the actor mentioned that the organizer had promised to provide him extra compensation if he shed tears at the funeral. These disclosures sparked laughter among everyone, offering a peek into the jovial friendship shared by Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, and Chunky Panday.
