In a recent conversation with News18 Showsha, actress Samantha Akkineni, known for her achievements in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, discussed her upcoming role in Citadel: Honey Bunny. Notably, she had collaborated with the directors of this series on The Family Man 2 previously. During their work together, they began brainstorming ideas for an Indian adaptation of Citadel, though at that time, Samantha was unaware of these plans. Contrastingly, Varun Dhawan had already been briefed about the essential aspects of their upcoming project.

The renowned South Indian actor reminisced about the past, stating, “I saw a photo of them with the Russo Brothers, which suggested collaboration. However, I was unaware of the specifics of the project or its universe at that point.

In a direct manner characteristic of him, Dhawan expressed interest in working with Raj and DK, ultimately joining their project ahead of the female lead, as they were already producing the show.

Upon joining the project, the actress was taken aback when she discovered the secret method the actor used to gain access to exclusive sets, despite him not being able to maintain this secret. She exclaimed, “Even ordinary folks like us have to spend years to achieve what he did in a flash!

Moreover, the actress from Shaakuntalam playfully jabbed at the director pair, who confided in Dhawan only when they were certain their information would remain confidential. Samantha remarked, “They are aware that there’s no point in keeping secrets with Varun, yet they choose to reveal everything to him. It just baffles me!

“Citadel India” is the Indian version of the Citadel franchise, featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Varun Dhawan, Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, among others. The trailer for this series has been unveiled and it’s set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on November 7th.
