Citadel: Honey Bunny star Samantha Ruth Prabhu recalls being 'completely blanked out' on set; says 'nobody took me to hospital'

As a dedicated follower of Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s career and personal journey, I am constantly amazed by her resilience and determination. Her recent interview with Galatta India shed light on yet another challenge she faced during the production of Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she had a concussion and experienced a moment of complete blankness. What struck me most was her humble revelation that nobody took her to the hospital, highlighting the strength and self-reliance that Samantha possesses.

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who first appeared digitally alongside Manoj Bajpayee in The Family Man Season 2 in 2021, is preparing for the premiere of Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she will star alongside Varun Dhawan. Known for speaking openly about her battle with myositis, Samantha has recently discussed an instance on the set of Citadel where she experienced a moment of fainting (being ‘completely blanked out‘). She shared that no one took her to the hospital during this incident.

In a recent chat with Galatta India, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opened up about her time filming Citadel: Honey Bunny. She reminisced on an instance when she became ill while working on set.

Samantha shared, “After my concussion, I couldn’t remember people’s names. It was like a total memory loss. Quite an experience, wasn’t it? Funny thing is, no one ever took me to the hospital or even asked about it.

During her concussion, the actress from Ye Maya Chesave revealed that she overheard the team could film for half a day. Samantha disclosed that the actress had actually let the team know she was on set, as she was already there along with a stunt person in front of her.

In the year 2022, Samantha Ruth Prabhu received a diagnosis for myositis, an immune system disorder that impacts muscles. As a result, she decided to pause her acting career to focus on recuperating from this health issue.

In a 2023 interview with TopMob, Samantha openly discussed her health struggles and returning to work. “It’s been tough and tedious, but my work serves as my anchor. I fought hard to reclaim that part of my life,” she shared.

Samantha expressed her heartfelt appreciation towards the producers and directors for their patience in allowing her return to the film sets. She went on to say, “Each day brings something new. One day is never like another. There are moments of joy, times of struggle, and some truly challenging periods.

The show “Citadel: Honey Bunny” is a separate story set in the same universe as the American spy series, Citadel. The prequel featuring Samantha and Varun will debut on Amazon Prime Video on November 7, 2024.
