As a seasoned space-themed gaming enthusiast with a soft spot for wearable tech that mirrors my interstellar adventures, the new Satellite Wave X from Citizen has piqued my interest like a cosmic beacon. With a decade of satellite-guided timekeeping under its belt, this watch series has always been a celestial standout.
Ten years following the launch of the Satellite Wave F100 model, Citizen has rolled out two new versions within this series. This original design was pioneering, capable of receiving time signals from satellites orbiting in space. Consistent with this heritage, the newly presented Satellite Wave X models maintain both their technical and visual characteristics.
Equipped with Super Titanium™ and Duratect Titanium Carbide DLC coating, two exclusive technologies by Citizen, these watches boast a durability that is five times stronger than stainless steel. The design includes a circular watch case with prominent triangular edges on one side, and it measures approximately 45.5mm in width and 12.7 mm in thickness.
1) The dials have a deep black or intense blue hue, with sparkling accents that mimic the enigma and immensity of the cosmos. Inside these watches ticks the F150 movement, equipped with an Eco-Drive function that can last up to 7 years on a full charge and in power-saving mode. Similar to the original Satellite Wave timepiece, the design of the metal band’s links is inspired by satellite solar panels.
Beginning in September, you’ll have the opportunity to buy a pair of Satellite Wave X watches from Citizen. Each one will cost approximately £1,395 GBP or $1,843 USD.
